Brand new (2007) series of silkscreen prints based on some of the
more spectacular scenes in Ilkley - this series, with editions ranging
from 60-125, was completed in three months earlier this year. The
complete set of 6 prints can be seen at my studio, together with
the 6 original drawings which informed the designs for the silkscreen
prints. |

The
Saxon Crosses are situated in Ilkley Parish Church (All Saints)
in the centre of Ilkley. The designs are indistinct in many cases and I managed to get a clearer idea of the images by referring to various books in the Reference Library. They could at one time have been coloured, natural earth pigments being the medium to do this. In the background can be seen Beamsly Beacon in this imaginery location! |
