The sculpture page shows work in bronze done from 1995-2005. All the works are unique, with the exception of "Hands". Some recent work in marble, resin & slate is also shown. Weights are given for bronze work only.

From 1995-2005, I worked mainly in bronze, using the lost wax bronze casting method. A sculpture is made in wax, and coated with several layers of ceramic (molochite) powder. The wax is then melted out and molten bronze poured into the mold. The long process of finishing the bronze, culminating in the patination of the surface, begins once the mold is broken away from the sculpture.

*Cold cast is a process where pure bronze powder is mixed into resin. Sculptures made in this way are lighter in weight than those made in solid bronze; simple shapes, however, are more easily reproduced by this method.
