I acquired my studio, in central Ilkley, in May 2001. This has made such a difference to my life - to be able to work in oils in a space which seems just designed for the purpose!

In fact, this row of stone buildings was built as a stable block - I work on the first floor, where the hay would have been stored, and have the luxury of a full length opening door.
This is marvellous in hot weather and for loading and unloading larger works.

EXHIBITIONS 2010

Cavendish Pavilion, Bolton Abbey
I am delighted to say that I have been invited to display my work at the Cavendish Pavilion, Bolton Abbey. The work currently on show features silkscreen prints of the Dales created using many layers of transparent colour. In addition, there are three monochrome prints, including a new one of The Laund Oak, a watercolour and two oil paintings.

NEWS: A new series of silkscreen prints has been started for 2009 - based in and around the Bolton Abbey area - including The Laund Oak, the Strid and so on, in neutral or monochrome shades. In 2007 I completed a series of silk screen prints of Ilkley - six subjects in total. This has meant approximately 7 colours on each of 700 sheets of paper .... all in two and a half months! These were 'launched' at Lotherton Hall in June 2007 and the first number of each edition was on sale there, framed in oak. The series is proving very popular and the first numbers in each edition have now been sold.
